PARIS, 1 st September 2015 – SOL’S, European leader in promotional apparel and accessories, has today announced that it has joined the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) as part of an ongoing commitment to the highest ethical and manufacturing standards.
Through its SAC membership, SOL’S will use the group’s sustainability measurement tool – the Higg Index – to drive environmental responsibility across its supply chain.
SOL’S joins more nearly 160 global brands, retailers and manufacturers, collectively committed via SAC to improving supply chain sustainability in the apparel and footwear industries.
SOL’S commitment to excellence also extends to the quality of the supply chain and manufacturing process. One year after initially being awarded the ISO 9001: 2008 certification for quality management, an external audit has recently confirmed compliance without any reservations.
A third accolade comes from the Fair Wear Foundation. SOL’S Affiliate Membership of FWF has been audited as “Good” after the first six months. SOL'S has committed to continue making concrete improvements in labour standards in collaboration with plant managers, based on an action plan approved by this independent, nonprofit organisation.
SOL’S founder and Chairman Alain Milgrom commented: "For more than 15 years, SOL'S has been ethically and socially engaged, thanks to the commitment of the men and women who make up ourteam. These values are part of SOL'S DNA, and contribute towards a brand that resellers and end users can trust”.
There are currently more than 150 members of the SAC, the majority of which are global brands and retailers including: Adidas, C&A, Gap, H&M, Kohl’s, Levi’s, Macy’s, Nike, Puma, REI, Target, and VF Corporation. More information on SAC can be found at www.apparelcoalition.org
